Natalia Kukarenko is an Assistant Professor in Philosophy at Northern Arctic Federal University (NArFU) in Arkhangelsk, Russia and Vice-rector for Strategy and Cooperation at NArFU. She was a Director of the Institute for Social-Political Sciences and Humanities at NArFU in 2013 – 2016. She graduated from Pomor State University, Faculty of Foreign Languages in Arkhangelsk (1997), got a PhD in Social Philosophy (1999). She has been a research fellow at the University of Tromsř, the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, Alexanteri Institute at the University of Helsinki, Northern Research Institute – NORUT Tromsř. Her field of research interests is within Social and Political Philosophy and Gender Theory. She has written on gender equality, migration, human well-being and health. She is the author of more than 50 articles, book chapters and monographs in Russian, English and Norwegian.
