About RHA

An independent centre

The University of Akureyri Research Centre is an independent centre within the university.  The centre receives some funding directly from the university but most of its income comes from research projects and consultations for companies, organisations, ministries and from domestic and foreign research grants. The centre’s main aim is to enhance the University of Akureyri's research capabilities and to strengthen its ties to the local and national economy. It also has the role of developing new projects within the university.

The University of Akureyri Research Centre (RHA) has been granted 550,000 DKK by the Nordic Council of Ministers, for two research projects.

The projects are a part of the Arctic Cooperation Programme 2009-2011. This is the second year RHA gets grants for projects under the Arctic Co- operation Programme 2009-2011. Read more
